Memories Within the Moment

Memories within the moment fall out of trees inside of me

Tonight the stars read my lips

My soul reflecting off the lampshade of heaven

New beginnings sprout like cherry blossoms delivered from the earth

Music’s majesty tickles my being

Longing bursts out of my skin

Lightning from the clouds of me

Pain climbs out of my hair

Clinging to the light only to become arrows for cupids bow

Fortune favors understanding

Of things untold but consumed with every breath

Or sip of wanton wine

Filling the villages that live around my heart

With song and laughter for seemingly years

If only fading seconds

As a wind that whips with Poseidon’s power

Struggles with kisses searching for school yard cheeks

It is not love that dissipates

But rather the vessel

Confused on whether it is empty or full
